The links on this page will download a 'KML' file, that can be opened with Google Earth & will show the walks we have done as recorded by our GPS Reciever. If you don't have Google Earth, it can be downloaded free for your computer here or from the App Store/ Play Store for mobile & Tablet.

Saturday Dec 24th

Titirangi Beach - an expolratory walk around Titarangi getting home just before the late 8:30 sunset

Sunday Dec 25th

Karekare Falls and Beach - the first of our Kiwi waterfalls to visit and a strange black sand beach

Kitekite Falls - a more impressive set of Falls, warm enough that the crazy kids went for a swim under the Falls!

Lion Rock - this one was a short walk from the car park, but what it lacked in distance, it made up for in altitude!

Tuesday Dec 27th

Russel - after the ferry trip to Russel, we took a walk to explore the views of the 'Hell Hole of the Pacific'!

Bay of Isalnds Boat Cruise - while not technically a walk, it's interesting to see where we were taken on our cruise

Wednesday Dec 28th

Naomi & Colin explore Hahei - while the kids had a rest, Naomi & Colin did a 'Recky' from the accomodation to the start of the Cathederal Cove walk

Thursday Dec 29th

Cathederal Cove - round trip from The Church to Cathederal Cove and back. An epic walk, the kids did an amazing job on this long and 'uphill both ways' walk

Friday Dec 30th

Karangahake Gorge - this walk included some underground exploration of an old Gold mine and a walk through a 1km long railway tunnel under a mountain, some of the track jumps, as the GPS Reciever doesn't work underground

Hobbiton - this walk track also includes the coach trip in and out from the carpark, unfortunately we can't claim all the kms in this one, but at least you can see where Hobbiton is hidden in a farmers back paddock!

 Sunday January 1st

Haku Falls - an impressive 'White Water Run' just a short walk from the carpark to the lookouts

Aratiatia Hydro Dam - another short walk, we were there at the right time to witness the spillway opening and flooding the valley at one of it's scheduled times

 Friday January 6th

Abel Tasman National Park - We did a looong walk from Bark Bay South to Anchorage, with a deviation to Cleopatra Pool

Sunday January 8th

Franz Josef Glacier - a substancial walk from the car park to the end of the 'safe' zone, around 750m from the terminal face.
